Cleansing your aura has been an age old spiritual practice.
People in older days used to have strong spiritual practices which not only included raising your vibrations but also protecting them.
Today we will learn about:
What is our Aura?
Everything, literally everything has energy; whether low or high. The table around you, your clothes, your food, the crystals, the spices or herbs, everything.
Even if it’s a rock, it has atoms. And if something has atoms, it has energy.
And our aura is our energy field around us. Our electromagnetic field as it is called in scientific term
Think of it as your personal energy bubble.
It is always interacting with people we meet and places we go.
Not only that, it has colors as well. There are devices to read them plus some psychics can also read auras.
Our aura is made of several layers, which may be called the energy body, mental body, wisdom body and bliss body, apart from the physical body.
So, if you’re sad; your aura will reflect it, if you’re anxious, your aura will have that anxious energy or if you’re happy; people can feel the vibes.
Your aura can reflect your mood, your health, emotions and even your spiritual state.
I’m sure you might have felt uneasy or happy around certain people in your life; without even talking to them.
That’s their aura talking to you.
What is Aura cleansing?
Aura cleansing is removing stagnant, heavy, stuck or negative energies from our auric field.
Just like to cleanse dirt and toxins from your physical body, you take a shower; aura cleansing is a spiritual hygiene practice so as to purify and cleanse your energetic body?
FUN FACT: Do you know your aura can also reflect diseases years before they appear in your physical body?
When you cleanse your aura, it can help you to:
- Feel lighter
- Feel grounded
- Restore your emotional balance
- Release energetic blocks
- Get rid of brain fog
- Strengthen your intuition
- Fasten up your healing process if sick
- Improve your overall well being
Why should we cleanse our Aura?
These days we all know the power of thoughts or energy.
If you’re projecting positive energies into the universe, that’s what you receive.
And if you’re sending negative energies, you receive negative results.
For example, if you overthink on a daily basis, especially about how bad or tough your life is, how nothing good is happening in your life, how you’re stuck in life or else if you’re shameful or guilty about something you did in your life; these all emotions have negative or low vibrations.
And the more you think this way, the more lower vibrations you’re sending out in the energy field.
If the energy field around you will have these lower vibrations, won’t you get that back in return?
This also stands true for how people think about us and react towards us.
If someone is jealous of us, that person without realizing it, is sending those negative vibrations towards us because thoughts can travel anywhere, they are energy holding information.
Their electromagnetic field is sending your electromagnetic field information.
This way, you’re exchanging energy with everyone and everything around you.
And that is not the only way, we might receive negative vibrations.
We also visit so many places and talk to numerous people everyday.
If those places have lower vibrations and those people also have low vibrating energy fields/aura around them; you ought to receive those vibrations through them as you’re interacting with them.
And this way, your aura accumulates the negative energies it has been receiving.
That’s why it becomes crucial that we cleanse our aura on a regular basis to protect ourselves from dipping too much into negative emotions or in a negative cycle.
Aura Cleansing helps you to:
1. Remove negative energy:
Regular aura cleansing can wash off excess negative and heavy energies from your energy field which may usually result in stress, bad luck or arguments in personal relationships.
2. Prevent energy Drain:
Think about people you meet everyday and how many of them are actually positive?
If you’re constantly exposed to an environment with tons of people, you collect their energy garbage when you interact with them and a heavy aura can lead to constant energy drainage.
It may also make you feel tired, overwhelmed, brain fog or unmotivated in life.
3. Improvement in mindset and mood:
Aura cleansing can easily lift your spirits and improve your mindset by washing off excess heavy vibrations.
4. Strengthen your boundaries:
With regular aura cleansing, you will be able to establish stronger boundaries within your relationships and stand up & say no when needed. These are the qualities of a person who has strong aura

If your aura is cleansed, you will not only experience heightened intuition but also a better connection with the universe. You will easily be able to receive guidance from the universe.
7 Powerful ways to cleanse your Aura
1. Smudging
This is one of the oldest and easiest methods to cleanse your energy field.
You can use sage or palo santo sticks to smoke and cleanse your aura.
If you don’t have that, you can use an incense stick for that matter.
Just take a burning stick and rotate it around your aura, whether clockwise or anticlockwise while affirming,
“My aura is being cleansed and cleared of all the heavy and stuck energies. All the negativity is washing away”
You can also perform aura cleansing of a loved one if they’re sick or otherwise.
2. Salt water bath
Salt is a powerful energy cleanser which is easily available in every home.
If you’re feeling tired after home from a hectic work day, take a salt water bath.
Yes, I get it; you can’t immerse yourself in a bathtub experience. Well, you won’t need that.
Just take a glass of water with salt mixed in it with you in the washroom, take a quick shower and in the end pour that salt water over you while visualizing negative energy being cleansed or you can also use the same affirmation I shared in the previous point.
3. White light Cleansing
This is my favourite way of cleansing my aura and i use it almost daily to cleanse my energy field.
What you have to do is visualize white light while closing your eyes, cleansing your energetic body a few inches outward of you and even your physical body from head to toe.
Visualize white light filling your physical and energetic body, cleasning all the gunk and garbage out of your body and forming a protective sphere of energy around you.
Do this daily for 3-5 minutes for amazing results.
You will feel lighter immediately after this.
You can also perform this method whenever you feel brain fog.
It will quickly give you mental clarity.
4. Spending time in nature
Nature recharges your aura naturally.
Whenever you get a chance, spend 10-15 minutes walking barefoot on grass, or hug a tree or even walk down the beach to refresh your aura.
You can also perform this white light cleansing method with sunlight, standing in sunlight while visualizing this golden light cleansing your aura.
Please keep in mind that you’re doing this during early morning hours and not in peak hours.
5. Using Healing Crystals
This is another powerful way to cleanse negative energies from your aura.
Use crystals like black tourmaline ( which I always recommend everyone and I personally use too), black obsidian, selenite, amethyst or clear quartz.
You can wear these crystals as jewelry to help you regularly keep your aura cleansed and protected.
You can use a selenite wand to brush off heavy energies from your energy field by rotating it around your body in brushing off motions.
6. Practice Breath work or Energy Healing
When we usually feel intense emotions, our breaths become short.
Like if you’re anxious or angry; you automatically start taking very short breaths.
When you take deep breaths, it kicks out heavy energies from your energy field.
Conscious breathing can actually sweep away negative energies from our aura.
Or if you’re interested, you can also learn reiki healing or pranic healing to not only cleanse your aura but also balance your chakras and for improving overall well being.
7. Journaling for emotional release
Did I say Journal?
Yes!
When you journal, you bring out a lot of heavy emotions. You’re able to release suppressed emotions through journaling.

I have done a lot of my own healing through journaling and it is very powerful.
You won’t understand until you try it but I would say, give it a try at least!
Your aura is your energetic signature.
Not only you can feel down when the aura is leaking but others can also feel the heavy energies the same way when you walk into a room or meet someone and you immediately feel something wrong about them.
Keeping it clean, balanced and protected is a form of Self Care.
You can start with one or two practices and slowly make them part of your daily or weekly routine.
The more your energy is clean and aligned, the more in tune with life you will feel.
